In this role, you will be responsible for converting audio and video recordings into accurate, well-formatted written transcripts and captions. You will work with a variety of media content, including interviews, podcasts, webinars, documentaries, and digital broadcasts. This position requires strong listening skills, fast and accurate typing, and familiarity with media formats and time-coding.

Key Responsibilities

• Listen to and accurately transcribe audio and video files into written documents.

• Create and synchronize captions or subtitles for media content.

• Edit and proofread transcripts to ensure high accuracy, grammar, and readability.

• Follow specific style guides, formatting requirements, and time‑stamp conventions.

• Handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.

• Maintain confidentiality and securely handle client materials.

• Communicate effectively with clients or project managers regarding specifications and clarifications.

• Ensure proper tagging of speakers, background sounds, and other media elements as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Excellent command of English (grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary).

• Strong listening and comprehension skills across diverse accents and audio qualities.

• Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 60+ words per minute preferred).

• Experience using transcription tools such as Express Scribe, oTranscribe, or similar software.

• Basic understanding of captioning tools like Rev Captioner, Aegisub, or Subtitle Edit.

• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.

• Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
