About The Role

We are seeking a passionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide remote services to K-12 students in Youngstown, Ohio. You will offer specialized instruction in braille, assistive technology, and mobility skills to help visually impaired students succeed academically and socially in a virtual setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide remote instruction in braille, adaptive technologies, and functional skills for students with visual impairments.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs and learning goals.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school teams to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies.
  • Participate in IEP meetings to ensure appropriate accommodations and services are provided.
  • Guide general education teachers on integrating visually impaired students into classroom activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Ohio's special education regulations.
Requirements
  • Valid Ohio certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.

  • At least two years of experience teaching visually impaired students (teletherapy experience preferred).
