Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly qualified School Counselor to foster the social, emotional, and academic development of students through online platforms and traditional outreach. The role collaborates with staff and families to tailor academic programming and graduation/career planning, ensuring compliance with laws and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in counseling or related field with at least one year of counseling experience, knowledge of ASCA model, and

  • Eligibility: Open to residents of Colorado.
  • Experience with ASCA model required.
  • Experience with K-12 online learning required.
  • Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws and mandated reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver proactive guidance curriculum to individuals and groups.
  • Provide counseling services and programming for students.
  • Review transfer transcripts and inform course placements.
  • Maintain and review transcripts for active students and inform credit award procedures.
  • Create and maintain student graduation plans and career plans.
  • Deliver Social-Emotional Learning curriculum and 504 plans.
  • Analyze student data to guide academic programs and interventions.
  • Travel within the state to support testing efforts and school events.

The School Counselor supports overall student success by partnering with staff members and families to inform student specific academic programming, create andmaintaingraduation and career plans, and provide proactive and preventative services.

About the Opportunity
  • Deliver proactive guidance curriculum to individuals and groups
  • Respond to individual and group needs with responsive counseling and programming
  • Review transfer student transcripts and informappropriate courseplacements
  • Maintain and review transcripts for active students and inform credit award procedures
  • Create andmaintainstudent graduation plans
  • Provide career readiness curriculum andfacilitatecreation of career plans
  • Deliver Social-Emotional Learning curriculum

About You
  • Bachelor’s degree plus one (1) yearpreviousexperience in counseling and/or advisement OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with the ASCA model
  • Experience with K-12 online learning
  • Experience with Local, State, and Federal laws and mandated reporting
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly andexhibitsound judgment whilemaintainingthat confidentiality
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations and make evidence-based decisions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistently
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks

Compensation and Benefits: The compensation and benefits information below is accurate as of the date of this posting. The Company reserves the right to modify this information at any time, with or without notice, subject to applicable law.

The annual starting salary for this full-time exempt position is between $57,000 – $70,000annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

We offer the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, 10 paid holidays annually.

Paid Time Off: Paid Time Off to cover sick, vacation, and personal absences.

We offer 4 unique health insurance plans to choose from that cover a wide range of deductibles and co- insurance levels. Our goal is to provide you with maximum choice in finding a plan that meets you and your family’s needs. Employees can choose from co-pay or High Deductible Health Plans.
