Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking an Observation Monitor to support patient safety and monitoring. You will report to the registered nurse, follow care guidelines, and ensure continuous visual oversight of patients using the organization’s IT platform.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, identifying yourself to patients and families, and promptly reporting any patient changes to the assigned nurses. An on-site hospital role supporting clinical teams.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Must complete mandatory education and competencies required for position.

Responsibilities

• Report on/off duty to the registered nurse assigned to care for patients.
• Receive observation guidelines from the registered nurse for each patient/shift/assignment.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Remain in visual contact with patients at all times via the designated IT platform.
• Identify self to patients and family members or significant others.
• Provide virtual continual observation and monitoring of multiple patients using the SLUHN IT platform.
• Report behavior changes and patient requests to the assigned nurses.
