Job summary

Mountainside Treatment Center is seeking a Virtual Outpatient Clinician to deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy to adults and adolescents in a remote setting. You will build a close working relationship with clients, families, and community providers while maintaining rigorous documentation and compliance.

The role requires at least 20 direct hours per week, two evening shifts, and active licensure in LMHC/LCSW/LMFT or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
• Current independent or provisional licensure in LMHC/LCSW/LMFT or equivalent.
• Experience in evidence-based approaches for adults and adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, family, and couples therapy as clinically appropriate.
• Maintain an active caseload with a minimum of 20 direct client care hours per week.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and document progress notes.
• Maintain electronic health records in compliance with agency and accreditation standards.

Virtual Outpatient Clinician Remote Position - Must Reside in CT, NY, NJ, or MA

About the Position:

This role focuses on helping clients build lasting recovery through evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment that supports the mind, body, and spirit.

The Outpatient Clinician serves as the primary clinical contact for assigned clients, providing individual, group, family, and couples therapy as clinically appropriate. This role collaborates closely with internal teams, external providers, and community resources to ensure coordinated, high-quality care throughout the recovery journey.

Must be able to work 2 evening shifts per week.

Provide trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy for adults and adolescents in an outpatient substance use treatment setting.

Coordinate care with families, referral sources, community providers, and internal treatment teams.

Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and other integrative interventions.

Maintain an active individual therapy caseload, including a minimum of 20 hours of direct client care per week.

Facilitate group therapy sessions and document services through individualized progress notes.

Maintain electronic health records in accordance with agency, state, and accreditation standards.

Participate actively in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, case consultations, and departmental huddles.

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, accreditation, and NY OASAS requirements, including required reporting and training.

Graduate Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field required.

Current Independent Licensure or Provisional Licensure such as: LMHC/MHC-LP, LPC, LCSW/LMSW, LMFT/MFT-A, in at least one of the following states: Graduation from a CACREP accredited Program or NASW Social Work accredited program preferred.

Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including independent/associate license, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
