Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist by the Texas State Board of OT Examiners.
• Ability to use tests and measurements to assess motor disorders and conditions.
• Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of motor disorders and conditions.
• Ability to instruct and manage student behavior.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• One year supervised clinical occupational therapist experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide individual and group therapy to students aligned with therapy goals.
• Evaluate student progress and determine readiness for termination of therapy services.
• Assist students with fine motor skills, self-help, and sensory processing in the school setting.
• Conduct individual evaluations to determine eligibility for services.
• Develop clinical management strategies or procedures and interpret data per DAS procedures.
• Participate in ARD Committee to assist in interpretation of assessment, data, placement and goals.
• Counsel and involve parents in the remedial process.
• May supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).
• Compile, maintain and file all required reports and documents; comply with policies.
