Description:

Please note that this position is not remote and requires on-campus work at Loyola.

Responsible for assisting nursing staff in continuous remote monitoring of patients requiring close observation via camera. Collaborates with healthcare personnel to maintain a safe environment, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Works under limited supervision, guided by the Manager of Virtual Monitoring.

This Role Will Be Responsible For:

• Maintaining visual alertness on a computer screen with 12-16 active patients.
• Remaining alert to patient behaviors, recognizing and addressing harmful actions.
• Monitoring patient movements via CCTV with pan/tilt/zoom capabilities.
• Using digital 2-way audio to verbally redirect patients and alert nursing staff as needed.
• Communicating professionally and empathetically with patients, staff, and colleagues.
• Meeting nursing staff expectations to ensure patient safety.
• Providing detailed shift reports on patient activity.

Requirements:

• Ability to verbally interact calmly with 12-16 patients in distress.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 healthcare environment.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.
• Proficiency in oral and written reporting.
• Basic computer skills; on-the-job training provided.
• Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Pay Range: $16.50 - $22.11 per hour. Actual compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
