Job summary

Georgia Connections Academy is seeking a Middle School Assistant Principal to lead instructional quality, student engagement and school operations for grades 6–8 in a statewide virtual program. The role partners with the Middle School Principal and district leadership to implement high-quality instruction, monitor student outcomes, and support teachers, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Georgia Tier I Educational Leadership and Clearance certification, or the ability to obtain the certification.
• Experience teaching and/or leading at the middle school level (grades 6–8).
• Middle school instructional practices and adolescent development knowledge.
• Curriculum implementation and data-driven instruction experience.
• Public school organization and accountability systems familiarity.
• Ability to coach, provide feedback, and build relationships with students, staff and families.
• Clear communication skills and professional collaboration within a leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Support high-quality middle school instruction aligned to state standards.
• Conduct classroom observations and provide actionable instructional feedback and coaching.
• Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
• Assist with remediation, acceleration, and enrichment programs for grades 6–8.
• Support development and monitoring of school improvement goals and plans.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate middle school teachers and staff.
