Position Overview

Are you an organized, tech-savvy healthcare professional who thrives in a fast-paced, virtual setting? We're hiring a Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA) to join our team and help deliver high-quality administrative support and patient coordination-right from your home office.

As a Virtual Medical Assistant, you'll play an essential role in supporting providers by managing patient communication, scheduling, documentation, and more. This is a fully remote position, ideal for someone with prior MA experience and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinic prep and chart abstraction in the EMR system
  • Patient referrals
  • Manage scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups for patient appointments
  • Assist with insurance verification and prior authorizations
  • Handle inbound/outbound phone calls and patient messages
  • Update and maintain patient records and charting
  • Uphold HIPAA standards and patient confidentiality
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by clinic
Qualifications
  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant or in a healthcare admin role
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Athenahealth, Epic, eClinicalWorks)
  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Private, quiet home office setup with reliable internet
  • Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) preferred but not required
  • HIPAA certification or willingness to complete training before starting
Compensation
  • $17/hour - Non-certified Medical Assistant
  • $18-$19/hour - Certified Medical Assistant (rate based on experience)
