Job summary

Art of Problem Solving AoPS Academy invites qualified Math Instructors to join the Virtual Campus as part-time educators delivering after-school and weekend enrichment. Classes run late afternoons to evenings on weekdays and Sundays, with summer camps offered in June–August.

Instructors teach elementary to high school students online, use interactive methods over Zoom, and work with small classes (about 12) to foster discussion and problem solving.

Qualifications

• Solid academic background in mathematics.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
• Experience using Zoom or similar video conferencing software and virtual classroom management.
• Experience teaching or tutoring K-12 students; experience with advanced students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach enthusiastic elementary, middle, and high school students in online classrooms.
• Use our curriculum to teach participation-oriented classes focusing on instruction and developing skills, not rote memorization.

Join Our AoPS Academy Virtual Campus as Math Instructor!

Art of Problem Solving is looking for Math Instructors to join their Virtual Campus team.

This is a part-time position. The AoPS Academy Virtual Campus is an after-school and weekend enrichment option for students, most of our Year-Round courses are offered late afternoons to evenings Monday through Friday. Many of our weekday classes start as early as 4pm ET and as late as 10pm ET. Classes are also offered all day on Sundays from 10am ET- 9pm ET. Summer camps are held Mon-Fri between June and August and run for 1, 2, or 4 weeks for 1.5 or 3 hours per day.

For each lesson you will:

Requirements:

• Must have a solid academic background in mathematics.
• A bachelor's degree in a STEM field is required. A master's degree or higher in a STEM field is preferred.
• Must have some experience using Zoom or similar video conferencing software and be comfortable managing a classroom in a virtual setting.
• Must have some experience teaching or tutoring students at the K-12 level. Some experience working with advanced students is preferred.
• All functions of this role must be completed in the U.S.

Benefits and Compensation:

The instructor rate at the Virtual Campus is $30/hour for Year-Round classes. The class rates represent flexible work time, 15 minutes early arrival immediately before class, and actual class time.
