Job Title: Virtual Learning Instructor-English

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

MS and HS Certified plus additional certification*

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD virtual school is seeking a passionate, experienced individual who values a respectful, student-centered environment with high expectations for all community members. We desire someone who believes in student success and aims to foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and 21st-century skills preparation.

Primary Purpose:

Working remotely and within an office in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, the certified Virtual Learning Instructor will manage instructional programs by providing synchronous and asynchronous online instruction across assigned content areas. Responsibilities include monitoring progress, evaluating work, conducting online and face-to-face tutorials, providing academic guidance, and serving as a subject-matter expert. The instructor will communicate regularly with staff, parents, and students via phone, internet, and curriculum tools to ensure successful program completion. They will deliver engaging learning activities to promote students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Master’s preferred
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate in specified area
  • Endorsements or training relevant to the assigned subject and level
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject; AP experience preferred

Experience:

Minimum of three years teaching experience, preferably online instruction

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

The instructor will:

  • Create and maintain a virtual school community
  • Tutor students individually or in small groups
  • Provide diagnostic, prescriptive, and evaluative services
  • Complete grading, progress reports, and parent conferences timely
  • Review curricula and adapt lessons for better understanding
  • Create digital lessons and supplemental materials
  • Align instruction with TEKS standards and online curriculum
  • Communicate regularly with parents, students, and staff to develop PLPs, monitor progress, and support student success
  • Support students’ learning environments and troubleshoot basic tech issues
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure student progress and communication
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and courses
  • Assist students and parents with assignments and strategies
  • Monitor student attendance and progress
  • Assess learning styles and adapt instruction accordingly
  • Coordinate with special education teachers for IEP modifications
  • Teach study skills and academic integrity
  • Conduct assessments and communicate expectations
  • Maintain accurate records and data
  • Participate in state testing, recruiting, community activities, and professional development
  • Adhere to ethical standards and district policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
