Virtual Interview Day - Physician Assistant Specialty Surgery - Brooklyn

Flex schedule 5:45a - 5:45p/5:45p - 5:45a - 60 - 75% Day Shift

The successful candidate will provide care to patients in specialty surgery and subspecialties including general, vascular, minimally invasive, bariatrics, surgical oncology, and hepato-biliary surgery. For immediate consideration, please submit your online application!

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Practice within the scope of delineated privileges.
  2. Provide direct care to individuals and families, ensuring safety, well-being, and respecting patient rights and confidentiality.
  3. Perform diagnostic assessments, including obtaining histories and physical examinations, and write appropriate orders in collaboration with physicians.
  4. Implement therapeutic protocols and monitor patient responses, notifying physicians of significant changes.
  5. Document all patient encounters thoroughly.
  6. Maintain necessary records, reports, and statistics for administrative and reimbursement purposes.
  7. Evaluate and manage critical care patients and perform emergency life-saving procedures in the absence of a physician.
  8. Participate in rounds, collaborate with healthcare teams, and assist in patient transitions.
  9. Provide preventive health services, counseling, and health maintenance education.
  10. Engage in quality improvement activities and departmental committees.
  11. Attend all scheduled meetings and be on call during non-working hours for urgent situations.
  12. Supervise and evaluate activities of PAs and medical students as appropriate.
  13. Participate in ongoing professional development and certification maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience.
  • Current NY State Physician Assistant license.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NALS certifications per privileges.
  • DEA certification.
  • Experience in departments such as ED, Robotics, Cath Lab, SICU, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery preferred.
Required Licenses:

Physician Assistant Lic-NYS, Ntl Com Cert Physician Asst

Preferred Qualifications:

One year of applicable experience is preferred.

Effective communication skills across all organizational levels are essential.
