Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC is seeking a virtual Intervention Specialist to support students with IEP goals in a nationwide online schooling environment. You’ll collaborate with teachers, conduct assessments, and help write IEPs to drive targeted instruction and student success.

The role emphasizes growth-minded coaching, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple students across diverse settings. The position is remote and requires meeting state standards and family collaboration.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Growth-focused coaching environment exposure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google products.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in multicultural settings (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities, adjust intervention strategies, and assist with general education tasks.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments to guide instruction.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals and objectives.
• Work to achieve student achievement and culture goals and state benchmarks.
• Apply research-based planning and daily instructional practices.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching in daily lessons and interactions with families and staff.
• Serve as case manager for a designated group of students and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Take on cross-team assignments and additional duties as needed.

About the Opportunity

The Intervention Specialist supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program.

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students, assisting in classroom intervention strategies, modifying general education curricular as necessary, and assisting the student with regular class assignments
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction
• Facilitate IEP Meetings and write IEP goals and objectives
• Relentlessly work to meet all goals related to student achievement and culture as well as state specific achievement goals
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues
• Serve a s case manager for a d esignated set of students
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding the academic and social-emotional growth of the students
• Willingness to take on cross-team assignments and projects
• Perform other duties as assigned

About You

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
• High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
• High quality written and verbal communication skills
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google products
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)
• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting (preferred)

The annual starting salary for this position is between $48,000 – $52,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
