Job summary

Penn State Health is seeking a Virtual ICU (vICU) nurse to provide remote ICU nursing care to critically ill patients across multiple hospitals from a centralized Virtual Care Center. The vICU nurse assesses data, collaborates with local teams via audio/video connections, and delivers bedside-quality care throughout the ICU stay using specialized software.

Required qualifications include five years ICU nursing experience, RN license, ACLS and BLS; CCRN and Cerner Powerchart are preferred.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years ICU nursing experience.
• RN license to practice in the state of employment or multistate license via compact.
• ACLS and BLS certification prior to end of orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual ICU nursing care to critically ill patients across multiple hospitals from a centralized Virtual Care Center.
• Assess patient data and respond to changes using specialized software and digital health tools.
• Collaborate with local care teams via audio/video connections to ensure timely, high-quality patient care during ICU stays.
