Job summary

Stride, Inc. recruits a High School Counselor to promote student success through preventive services and a comprehensive counseling program at Dogwood Virtual School (DVS).

You will guide students in academics, social-emotional development, and college/career planning, in a fully virtual environment with typical 9-5 schedules and 40+ hour weeks. Location-based residency applies for NC and border states.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in school counseling required.
• Three years of counseling/advisement experience.
• North Carolina School Counselor License.
• Ability to clear required background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan for postsecondary options for students.
• Focus on college and career readiness with families.
• Meet quarterly with caseload to review graduation plans.
• Deliver classroom instruction based on student success standards.
• Review transcripts and schedule planning for graduation.
• Assist with AP placement and pathway advice.
• Analyze student data to drive intervention plans.
• Provide short-term counseling and referrals as needed.
• Support testing programs and parent/staff development.
• Travel up to 20% for meetings and development.
