KPMG is currently seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with internal Virtualization Operations and Engineering teams to gather requirements and build/deploy appropriate tool; provide technical leadership in the development, integration, and testing of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, supporting multiple geographic locations, network enclaves, and virtual desktop pools
  • Offer input on the overall technology plan for the organization, ensuring specific technologies integrate effectively with other aspects of the network security technical infrastructure; collaborate and work effectively with different technology teams and vendors delivering complete networking solutions
  • Design, upgrade, test, and modify the VDI environment based on capacity and utilization requirements; troubleshoot and correct detected or reported system and network faults or outages; maintain deep technical and business knowledge of current industry directions and trends; work to deliver technology and products in the roadmap on schedule, and with the highest quality
  • Give expert advice and guidance to carry out plans and procedures; ensure product development process adherence, performance and budget targets are met; deliver last tier support for operations and support teams, including root cause analysis and preventative analysis
  • Build configuration management, service provisioning, inventory management, resource management, process automation, visibility, and self-service tools; provide training and guidance to other members of the Virtualization Operations and Engineering teams

Qualifications:

  • Minimum seven years of recent experience in virtualization design and engineering while managing and supporting large scale projects
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
  • Capable of designing new VDI environments and supporting technology solutions; must have experience with cloud hosted VDI solutions
  • Skills should include Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, Citrix NetScaler / ADC / VPX, Citrix Gateway Service, Citrix App Layering, Citrix XenServer, VMWare ESXi, good understanding of multi-site non-persistent and persistent VDI environments, strong working knowledge of networking equipment (switches, firewalls, proxy servers)
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and systems management
  • Ability to create architectural and technical documentation for deployed solutions and knowledge transfer; Excellent troubleshooting skills
