This opportunity is with one of the largest open‑shop electrical contractors in Texas, ranked among the top 10 electrical contractors in the state, with a 30+ year track record and expanding operations across Oklahoma. The company's expertise spans nearly every corner of electrical construction, from design‑build and industrial work to large‑scale healthcare, aviation, education, and data center projects, and it has built a reputation with general contractors for precision, reliability, and on‑time delivery.
The company runs one of the strongest VDC/BIM departments in the state, producing shop drawings to a rigorous LOD 400 detail level and coordinating directly with an in‑house prefabrication department to speed up field installation and reduce on‑site labor. The virtual design team averages well over a decade of electrical industry experience, and the department fosters a detail‑oriented, collaborative culture built on clear communication and dependable delivery.
The Virtual Designer is responsible for laying out and producing electrical shop drawings with a working knowledge of computer‑aided drafting (CAD/Revit) system standards, practices, and techniques. This role builds 3D models from field superintendent layouts and supports BIM coordination across disciplines under the guidance of the Sr. Virtual Design team.
The role works closely with the operations team, general contractors, MEP trade partners, and senior VDC staff to ensure systems are coordinated, install‑ready, and aligned with project schedules. This is a hybrid position with some days in the office and some days working from home.
