Job summary

Harvey Cleary is seeking a VDC Project Manager to support digital construction initiatives. You will lead BEP compliance, BIM standards, and 3D/4D model creation while coordinating with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

The role requires strong communication, 2–3 project multitasking, and mentoring within the VDC team. Responsibilities include drone flight planning, leveraging BIM for constructability reviews, and driving innovative model-based improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training/experience in a related field.
• 6+ years of AEC industry experience.
• MEP coordination experience on healthcare, semiconductor, or data center projects preferred.
• Proficiency with modeling, CAD, and coordination software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore).
• FAA Part 107 license preferred.
• Experience with laser scanners (Faro/Leica) and software (Faro Scene/Cyclone).
• Proficiency reading construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and video conferencing tools (Teams, Zoom).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage 2–3 projects simultaneously and work autonomously.
• Ability to train and mentor others in the VDC department.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of and ensure compliance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
• Adhere to BIM standards and refine future iterations.
• Create BIMs (LOD in 3D/4D) to meet project requirements.
• Develop models and simulations for construction planning and site logistics.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, manufacturers.
• Identify and implement model-based process improvements.
• Possibly perform drone flights and create safe flight plans per FAA rules.
• Support business development with technical expertise and interviews.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Project Manager to support all aspects of our digital construction initiatives. This role will need experience in VDC processes as well as Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination utilized throughout the organization. This individual embodies Harvey Cleary’s values of integrity, quality, and innovation in their work and interactions with team members and project stakeholders. The VDC Project Manager reports to the VDC Lead Manager while supporting operations teams in the successful delivery of projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of and ensure compliance with the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
• Adhere to the Harvey Cleary BIM standards and lead in the refinement of future iterations.
• Create Building Information Models (BIM) of varying Levels of Development (LOD) in 3D & 4D to meet project requirements.
• Create models and simulations to inform construction planning, site logistics, constructability reviews, lift plans, etc.
• Perform clash detection of federated models and lead coordination efforts with clients, consultants, subcontractors, manufacturers, etc.
• Identify, champion, and implement innovative improvements in model-based processes and technologies that improve project delivery.
• May be required to perform drone flights for construction projects and pursuits as needed
• May be required to create flight plans that meet the needs of our project teams while complying with FAA regulations
• Able to evaluate construction site conditions to ensure that a drone can be flown safely
• Provide technical expertise to assist business development and marketing teams in pursuit efforts, including interview participation as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Proficiency reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and various video conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities for 2-3 projects simultaneously
• Ability to work well both in a team environment and on individual assignments.
• Ability to work with autonomy, think critically, and use professional judgment.
• Ability to train and mentor others in the VDC department
• Ability to travel to construction sites to work with the project team.
