Job summary

KUKA is seeking an engineer to create new tools and update features within our existing technologies to test industrial controls programs in a virtual environment before production. You will gather requirements for upcoming projects, implement solutions to meet them, and test them with other software design team members.

The role emphasizes collaboration, technical writing, data presentation, and the ability to work in a hybrid office/remote setting while exploring new processes and technologies

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience developing in at least one of C#/Java/JScript/C++
• 2 years' experience with control systems and programming PLCs (Rockwell/Siemens)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Experience reading technical drawings and electrical diagrams
• Ability to work in a hybrid office and remote environment
• Strong technical writing and data presentation skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Willing to research new processes and technologies

Job description

This individual is part of a team that will create new tools and update features within our existing technologies to allow for the testing of industrial controls programs in a virtual environment before entering production. Responsibilities will include gathering requirements for upcoming projects, implementing solutions to handle those requirements, and test them in conjunction with other software design team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experienced at reading technical drawings and electrical diagrams.
• Capable of working in a hybrid office and remote environment.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with short turn-around times.
• Technical writing and data presentation skills.
• Solid organizational skills including proven ability to multi-task.
• Willing to research new processes and technologies to improve the workflow of future projects.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in the automotive, aerospace, or broader manufacturing industries.
• Experience in Test Driven Development or Industrial Digital Twin testing environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially when working closely with other teams.
• Experience working in WinMOD, Emulate3D, or Process Simulate or equivalent environment.
• Knowledge of controls standards for Ford, GM, Chrysler, and other automotive manufacturers.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 5 years' experience developing in at least one of the following: C#/Java/JScript/C++
