Responsibilities

This is a remote position and will require heavy travel, up to 75%.

Summary

The Virtual Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) Educator develops and implements standard CNA workflows on Virtually Integrated Care (VIC) units, ensuring quality and adherence to established standards for direct patient care. This role supports clinical staff by advancing the skills of direct care CNAs virtually, coaching and mentoring CNAs during their daily work, and developing a program for CNAs/Techs that includes a progressive education plan supporting RN positions within new care models, aligned with regional nursing programs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversees CNA practice virtually to achieve best practices and skill excellence, mastering CSH Care bundles compliance.
  2. Develops and implements standard VIC CNA workflows using holistic care techniques, focusing on patient and family-centered care in collaboration with VIC leadership.
  3. Monitors progress on metrics and collaborates with System VP to take action to sustain or improve these metrics.
  4. Demonstrates and promotes CNA best practices and models of care across CSH VIC units.
  5. Develops and leads professional and personal development programs for CNAs.
  6. Creates CNA curricula compliant with each state's nurse practice act.
  7. Instructs CNA cohorts in collaboration with VIC leadership.
  8. Works with System VP to identify grant opportunities supporting CNA education programs.
  9. Develops retention and career development plans for CNAs enrolled in the VIC program.
  10. Assists in creating and implementing CNA shared governance structures at local, regional, and national levels across CSH VIC units.
Qualifications

Required:

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  2. Minimum 5 years of CNA instruction experience in technical education programs
  3. Experience in large acute care organizations with team nursing workflows
  4. Strong collaboration experience with Allied Health professionals and RNs
  5. Teaching experience in CNA/Tech education programs
  6. RN license in a compact state
  7. Mandatory Reporter certification (Adult and Child) upon hire

Preferred:

  1. MSN
  2. Experience providing CNA instruction in acute care settings
  3. Ability to synthesize research and best practices for performance outcomes
  4. Knowledge of High Reliability skill sets
  5. Experience with early ambulation standards of practice
  6. Background in virtual care
  7. Ability to teach care alignment with RNs and Allied Health
  8. Creative care model design experience aligning RNs with competent caregivers
  9. Experience leading cultural change at the bedside
