Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist - Prior Authorization who will manage pharmaceutical selection and utilization, supporting core clinical programs and DUR activities. The role is virtual eligible and requires proximity to an Elevance Health office for in-person training.

You must hold a BA/BS in Pharmacy and an active pharmacist license; NC or KS licensure is preferred, with strong communication and analytical skills. Hybrid work is possible under our policy.

Qualifications

• Requires BA/BS in Pharmacy.
• Minimum of 2 years of managed care pharmacy experience or residency in lieu of work experience; or any combination thereof.
• Requires a registered pharmacist with an active unrestricted license.
• For Puerto Rico associates, PR health and PR Law 300 certificates may be required.

Responsibilities

• Researches and synthesizes detailed clinical data related to pharmaceuticals.
• Presents therapeutic class reviews and drug monographs to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
• Reviews and may approve/deny coverage for pharmaceuticals based on medical necessity criteria.
• Serves as a clinical resource to other pharmacists on prospective, inpatient and retrospective DURs and dosage conversions.
