Job summary

Dutch provides telemedicine for veterinarians to consult remotely with pet owners, enabling high-quality care from home with AI-assisted SOAP notes and an in-house EMR.

We are seeking experienced veterinarians to join our growing telemedicine team as independent contractors, offering flexible hours and pay-per-consult in a remote national setting. Active US licensure and clinical autonomy are supported.

Qualifications

• Graduate from AVMA-accredited veterinary school or eligible to practice in the United States.
• Active veterinary license in one or more states Dutch operates, in good standing.
• 5+ years of post-graduate clinical experience.
• Quiet professional space and reliable internet for video consults.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative and compassionate approach to care.
• Experience with telehealth tools and independent consult management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual consultations with pet parents via video and asynchronous messaging.
• Review medical history, symptoms, and treatment concerns via Dutch’s platform.
• Establish a valid VCPR when required and assess telemedicine suitability.
• Provide evidence-based treatment recommendations, including prescriptions when appropriate.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately in every interaction.
• Document all encounters using Dutch’s EMR.
• Collaborate with Dutch’s clinical leadership team as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct virtual consultations with pet parents via video and asynchronous messaging

• Establish a valid VCPR (when required) and determine whether telemedicine is appropriate for the case
• Provide evidence-based treatment recommendations, including prescriptions when clinically appropriate

• Document all encounters thoroughly using Dutch’s EMR
• Collaborate with Dutch’s clinical leadership team as needed

You’d Thrive in This Role If You Have:

• Graduated from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or completed requirements to practice in the United States
• An active license in one or more of the states where Dutch operates*
• A license in good standing with no malpractice or disciplinary actions
• 5+ years post-graduate clinical experience
• A quiet, professional space and reliable internet for video consults
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative, compassionate approach to care
• Comfort using telehealth tools and managing consults independently

What to Expect

This is a 1099 contractor role with no set hours — though vets who thrive here typically offer 10–15 hours/week with a preference for evening and/or weekend availability.

You’ll be supported by our Clinical Director, Vet Support team, and a streamlined platform that helps you focus on what you do best: providing excellent care to pets and peace of mind to their people.
