The nurse is responsible for interpreting physicians' written orders and dispensing medications and intravenous solutions for inpatients, in accordance with Federal and State Laws. Additionally, the RN audits charts and gathers information for Performance Improvement (PI) programs to meet JCAHO standards or hospital internal PI programs.
Hours: 3pm-11pm.
The RN reports to the RN Charge Nurse or designee, providing daily assignments and rounds with physicians. If the Charge Nurse is unavailable, the Staff RN assumes those responsibilities until a Charge RN is available.
Requirements include being a graduate of an accredited college, possessing a current RN license in Arkansas, and having hospital experience in medical, surgical, orthopedic, oncology, or renal units; beginning practitioners will be considered. Must speak, read, and write English fluently, and be capable of sitting, standing, walking medium distances, climbing stairs, lifting supplies, and working variable shifts. Must meet all staff RN charge job description requirements and be willing to work extra shifts in emergencies.
