What You'll Do

This position will be located at our Corporate Office: 2355 W Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027

The Virtual Banker II works in a call center environment dedicated to meeting members' loan origination and deposit account needs. The position responds to incoming calls, chats, online applications, and applications from branches from members interested in applying for consumer loans, including but not limited to lines of credit, vehicle loans, credit cards, mortgage loans, and deposit accounts (checking & savings). The Virtual Banker II is responsible for making daily outbound lead calls to bring in new members and cross-sell additional products and services. The role develops a pipeline of consumer loans and deposit accounts that they manage through to funding, partnering closely with other Member Care Center associates, Mortgage Loan Originators, and support staff.

  1. Process new member, deposit account, and consumer loan applications from members/prospective members via web or phone.
  2. Gather necessary information to complete deposit account applications to funding.
  3. Respond to new member lead requests, document activities, and follow up on inquiries.
  4. Communicate with prospective members about Credit Union products, membership benefits, and services accurately and timely.
  5. Maintain knowledge of membership eligibility.
  6. Handle sensitive inquiries, requests, and complaints via email or phone with members, vendors, and internal staff.
  7. Conduct onboarding dialogues for new members, including outbound lending support.
  8. Review credit reports, debt-to-income ratios, loan-to-value, and other underwriting information.
  9. Explain, promote, and inform members about credit union products and services, such as loan protection.
  10. Develop and expand member relationships through Credit Union solutions and relationship banking.
  11. Gather information to see loan applications through to funding.
  12. Use electronic signature software for loan and account documents.
  13. Perform research to resolve escalated issues.
  14. Manage a pipeline of applications, report on performance, and address obstacles.
  15. Perform funding duties for all consumer products except home equity loans and lines of credit.
  16. Meet monthly production goals.

What You Bring
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Some college education preferred.
  • 5-8 years of customer service experience, preferably in a financial institution or call center.
  • 3-5 years of financial lending experience.
  • Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Online chat experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • A passion for people, innovation, and growth.
