Job summary

Heartis Mid Cities in Arlington, TX is seeking a full-time Resident Assistant to provide compassionate, person-centered care to seniors in a warm, homelike environment. You will assist with daily living activities, help with meals, and support social engagement while maintaining safety and excellent communication with residents and colleagues.

Positions require 6 months to 1 year of senior care experience, strong teamwork, and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging independence.
• Serve meals and assist with meal preparation to support proper nutrition and hydration.
• Lead or participate in leisure activities to promote socialization and friendships.
• Maintain accurate records of leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions.

Location: Heartis Mid Cities, an Independent and Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr.
- $17.00/hr.

Shifts Available:

• 6:00 a.m.
  - 2:00 p.m.
• 2:00 p.m.
  - 10:00 p.m.

Must be available to work weekends and holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
