Job Summary

Prepares patient and assists clinical provider with patient examination by obtaining and documenting vital signs, past medical history, social history, and chief complaint. Performs various clinical tasks within the scope of their certification and under the supervision of the physician.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, chief complaint, and preparing the exam room as required.
  2. Performs phlebotomy, obtains specimens, administers vaccines, and performs diagnostic tests such as EKG, Pulmonary Function, etc., under supervision.
  3. Screens and directs patient calls, contacts patients regarding prescriptions and testing results as directed by the physician.
  4. Performs daily regulatory testing to ensure equipment accuracy and compliance.
  5. Maintains clinical supplies inventory.
  6. Performs front desk duties including patient registration, billing, and scheduling as directed.
Qualifications

Experience: 0-2 years in a medical office preferred.

Education: HS diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Certification required within 1 year in DE.

Certifications: Current Medical Assistant certification/registration and BLS certification required.
