Job summary

The University of Kentucky Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (UKVDL) seeks a Diagnostic Technician in the Virology/Serology Department to perform assays such as serum neutralization, virus isolation and ELISA testing. Located at Coldstream Research Campus with free parking, the role supports One Health objectives and animal health through state-of-the-art diagnostics.

BS required with related lab/veterinary experience; LIMS and QA/QC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a related field; laboratory or veterinary experience preferred.
• Experience in virology/serology laboratory settings and QA/QC familiarity.
• Familiarity with LIMS and ELISA testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform serum neutralization, virus isolation and ELISA testing to identify animal diseases.
• Prepare and process samples in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory environment.
• Support QA/QC activities and maintain documentation for accredited laboratory practices.
• Collaborate with Virology/Serology team to ensure accurate results and timely reporting.
