American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a VIP Travel Consultant III to deliver high‑level travel planning for our U.S. Military and Government team supporting federal clients.

You will manage complex itineraries, coordinate domestic and international travel, and ensure seamless end‑to‑end experiences with discretion and professionalism. The role emphasizes proactive service, strong communication, and a deep understanding of the travel industry, including policy adherence and supplier

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a travel consultant.
• Native GDS expertise (Sabre).
• Professional written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll join our U.S. Military and Government team, specializing in seamless travel management services to our federal clients.

The VIP Travel Consultant III is responsible for delivering exceptional, high level travel planning and support for high‑profile clients. This role manages complex itineraries, ensures seamless end‑to‑end travel experiences, and provides proactive solutions with the highest level of professionalism and discretion. The VIP Travel Agent anticipates client needs, responds promptly to last‑minute changes, and maintains strong relationships with premium travel partners. Success in this role requires excellent communication, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented environment.

What You’ll Do

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups)

• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and proactively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations

• Global Distribution Systems (GDS) Sabre

• Ensure compliance with customers’ agreed travel policy, service provider policies, and regulatory requirements

• Use positive telephone service techniques and act on special customer requests

• Collaborate with your team to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to improve service levels

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for excellence in client service, including proactive anticipation of needs

• Native GDS expertise (Sabre)

• 5+ Years of experience as a travel consultant

• Professional communication (written and verbal)

• Attention to detail.

• Act with integrity and look after personal traveler information

• Possess a strong understanding of the travel industry (background in business travel, leisure travel, or airline reservation)

• Resolving customer issues quickly and independently / with supplier

• Teamwork and openness to feedback

We accept military experience/certifications as a substitute for some requirements.

Because this role supports a United States Federal Government client, the successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen; authorization to work in the United States alone is not sufficient. Employment is contingent upon the ability to meet government eligibility requirements, including the successful completion of both company and government background investigations, which may include a review of criminal history and credit records.
