Job summary

Greenpoint Technologies is seeking a VIP Structures Mechanic III to maintain, modify, and repair interior support structures on VIP aircraft. The role requires reading drawings and orders to perform precision drilling, sealing, and preservation.

This is a temporary position employed through an agency requiring collaboration with engineering and production teams to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and timely completion of work orders.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least five years’ experience in aircraft structural repairs and modifications.
  • Experience with interior structures installation or modifications preferred.
  • US Person status may be required for ITAR programs.

Responsibilities

  • Performs close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.
  • Locates blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure.
  • Perform sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure per standard repair processes.
  • May assist leads with planning, production, and quality assurance of assigned projects.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform repairs.
  • Uses tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.
  • Maintains necessary certifications, licenses, and permits for assigned work.
  • Ensures a safe working environment via Hazardous Energy and Lock Out /Tag systems.

Job description

Summary

The VIP Structures Mechanic III is responsible for maintenance, modification, and repair of aircraft interior support structures. This role involves interpreting engineering drawings and technical orders to perform precision drilling, reaming, installation, sealing, and preservation tasks in accordance with safety and quality standards. The Senior VIP Structures Mechanic collaborates with engineering and production teams to ensure structural integrity, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely completion of work orders.

This is a temporary position employed through an agency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.
  • Locates blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure.
  • Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair processes.
  • May assist Leads with planning, production, and quality assurance of assigned projects.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modifications and repairs.
  • Uses tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.
  • Knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
  • Knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair.
  • Determines functionality of basic electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc.
  • Accesses aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests.
  • Maintains necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.
  • Ensures working environment is deemed safe for access and job task performance via Hazardous Energy and Lock Out /Tag systems applications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

High school diploma or equivalent required. At least five years’ experience performing aircraft structural repairs and modifications required. Experience with Interior Structures Installation or modifications preferred. Experience with Executive Fleet aircraft maintenance and operations preferred.
