Job summary

flyExclusive is seeking an entry-level Structures Technician in Kinston, NC to perform aircraft structural repairs, modifications, and inspections in a FAA Part 145 environment. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timeliness, with a focus on reading manuals and following approved data.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade training in aircraft structures preferred.
  • Proficient reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Airframe and/or Powerplant certificate preferred, not always required for structures roles.
  • Experience with hands-on aircraft structural maintenance and repairs.
  • Experience in heavy maintenance, skin and frame repair, and composite work on jets or similar aircraft.
  • Knowledge of aircraft manuals, engineering drawings, and FAA regulations (FAR 43, 145).
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and SRM/AMM documentation.
  • Proven ability to use sheet metal tools and precision measurement instruments.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship; background check required.
  • Safety-sensitive role with FAA drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

  • Execute work orders, engineering orders, and service bulletins in compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality Control, and Materials to support project milestones.

  • Wear PPE and follow safety practices; adhere to FOD prevention protocols.
  • Support internal and customer audits and address discrepancies.
  • Report progress, delays, and concerns to leaders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Job Summary

The Structures Technician is responsible for performing aircraft structural repairs, modifications, and inspections in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer data, and company procedures. This role focuses on hands‑on repair and fabrication tasks, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and on time in a Part 145 Repair Station environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hands‑on structural repair, fabrication, installation, and modification of airframe components using approved data and methods.
  • Execute work orders, engineering orders, and service bulletins in compliance with FAA regulations, OEM manuals, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality Control, and Materials to support project milestones.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of job documentation.
  • Properly use PPE and adhere to company safety practices and FOD prevention protocols.
  • Support internal and customer audits and assist in resolving discrepancies and non‑conformances.
  • Report progress, delays, and concerns to the Crew Lead, Maintenance Manager, or DOM in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft parts, systems, mechanics, and related tools/testing methods.
  • Skilled in reading manuals, troubleshooting, inspections, and performing quality repairs.

  • Adaptable and quick learner with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Effective communicator (oral, written, and digital) with solid computer aptitude.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see and hear clearly.

  • Ability to move in tight quarters.Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and physical strength are necessary to operate tools and/or make adjustments and repairs.
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.
  • Must be able to hear well enough to test sounds and identify functioning level of aircraft.
  • Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders.
  • Must be capable of regularly lifting, moving, pulling, and pushing objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
Work Environment
  • Full‑time role in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station, working in hangar, aircraft interior, and outdoor environments.
  • May require overtime, weekends, or variable shifts to meet project and AOG demands.
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise, vibrations, moving parts, fumes, airborne particles, and varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-4 years of experience performing hands‑on Aircraft Maintenance.
  • Prior experience with Corridor.
  • Candidates with Business Corporate Jet experience will be given priority.
