Job description

The VIP Interior Mechanic works under general supervision to safely perform aircraft removals, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors (which may include galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and panels). We have multiple openings for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manufactures and fabricates monuments from raw materials on VIP aircraft including wood, honeycomb, fiberglass, sheet metal and veneers.
  • Fabricates, fits, trims and installs interior components, galleys, bulk heads, doors, side ledges, game, and conference tables.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Performs troubleshooting and repairs to inspect incoming cabinetry and interior, removals, inventory, interior protection, and proper interior nomenclature for part identification.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform duties.
  • Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes other adjustments, as necessary.
  • Communicates effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
  • Completes job assignments in a timely manner.
  • Completes on-the-job-training (OJT) forms and required reading.
  • Helps with general clean-up of work area.
  • Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Effective and appropriate conduct with coworkers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

High School education or equivalent. Two years of applicable installation, fabrication, or related experience. Experience in aerospace industry preferred.

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).
  • Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work overtime, as required.
  • Ability to travel.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Able to reach overhead.
  • Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
  • Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).
  • Full range of motion with both hands.
  • Ability to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $56,000.00 - $77,000.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
