Job summary

Powell Academy of Music is seeking part-time music teachers to provide private violin and viola instruction at its four Ohio locations. We value instructors who can teach multiple instruments and commit long-term to our community.

Instructors are supported by front desk staff, online scheduling, and enrollment of new students, with two annual recitals and a flexible teaching environment designed to foster growth and enjoyment in music.

Qualifications

• University training or extensive performance ability.
• Experience teaching private music lessons to children and adults.
• Comfortable teaching a variety of styles and genres.
• Planning to remain in the area and commit to this position for at least a few years.

Responsibilities

• Teach private violin and viola lessons at multiple locations.
• Maintain schedules and deliver lessons with excellent student engagement.
• Use diverse teaching materials and approaches suited to each student.
• Support recital preparation and participation of students at school events.
