Job summary

Pearl Arts in Fort Wayne, Indiana seeks an enthusiastic Violin/Viola Instructor to join our Music Academy faculty. This independently contracted position offers flexible afternoons and evenings and a chance to contribute to a growing arts organization.

You will provide high-quality individual and group instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels, focusing on technique, musical expression, and strong practice habits while collaborating with other Pearl Arts instructors and preparing

Qualifications

• Proficiency on violin and/or viola.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of music theory, sight-reading, technique, and performance practices.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Formal music education or performance experience is preferred but not required for candidates with significant professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging violin and/or viola instruction to beginning, intermediate, and advanced students.
• Develop individualized lessons based on each student’s age, experience, goals, and learning style.
• Teach proper technique, posture, bowing, intonation, rhythm, reading, and musical expression.
• Help students develop effective practice habits and progress.
• Prepare students for performances, recitals, ensembles, and Pearl Arts events.
• Communicate regularly with students and parents/guardians regarding progress and practice expectations.
• Maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment.
• Collaborate with other Pearl Arts instructors on ensembles, performances, and student programming.
• Participate in Pearl Arts concerts, showcases, recitals, or Academy activities when applicable.
• Maintain accurate lesson schedules and communicate scheduling needs with Pearl Arts staff.
• Support the mission of Pearl Arts by contributing to a welcoming and inclusive environment for students and families.

Pearl Arts is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Violin/Viola Instructorto join our Music Academy faculty. This instructor will provide high-quality individual and/or group instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels, helping students develop strong musical foundations while building confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

The ideal candidate is a passionate musician and educator who enjoys working with students in a supportive, collaborative environment and is committed to making music education accessible and engaging for all learners.

Qualifications

Proficiency on violin and/or viola.

• Ability to work with students of varying experience levels and learning styles.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Dependable, professional, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
• Formal music education or performance experience is preferred but not required for candidates with significant professional experience.

Schedule

This is an independently contracted position, with teaching hours based on student enrollment and instructor availability. Afternoon and Evening availability preferred
