Job summary

Doorstep Music Lessons, the largest in-home music school in the Southwest, is seeking passionate private violin teachers to join our Phoenix team. Teach in students' homes, sharing your love for music with learners of all ages and levels.

Mentorship is provided during the first 3 months upon request. We handle marketing, enrollment, scheduling, reviews, customer service, and payments so you can focus on teaching.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in one or more musical instruments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Teaching experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be engaging with students and families.
• Provide one-on-one music lessons at students' homes.
• Create individualized lesson plans based on goals and skill level.
• Instruct on playing techniques, theory and performance.
• Maintain regular communication with families and track progress.
• Promote participation in recitals and development programs.
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Be fun and engaging with students and families
• Provide one‑on‑one music lessons to students in their homes
• Create individualized lesson plans based on student's goals, interests, and skill level
• Instruct students on proper playing techniques, music theory, and performance skills
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity and musical growth
• Maintain regular communication with students and their families to track progress and address any concerns
• Be active on social media and encourage students to participate in challenges, recitals and other development programs
• Professional and timely communication with students, families, and staff

Requirements

• Proficiency in one or more musical instruments (based on student demand)
• Reliable transportation to travel to students' homes for lessons
• Strong passion for music and a desire to inspire others
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students of varying ages and skill levels
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Teaching experience is a plus
• Experience working with children is a plus
• Experience teaching in students' homes is a plus
• Bachelor's degree or higher in music preferred, but not required - equivalent performance experience will be considered
• Students completing their bachelor's degree or higher in music are also encouraged to apply
