Job summary

Harris County Public Health in Houston, TX seeks a Violence Interruption Supervisor to lead a team of credible messengers aimed at preventing violence in Cloverleaf and surrounding areas. You will supervise, train, and coordinate interventions, working with community groups, law enforcement and service providers.

This role requires trauma-informed approach, strong communication, and data reporting to ensure timely responses and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in violence prevention/interruption and case management.
• Proven ability to supervise staff and coordinate community interventions.
• Strong MS Office and data reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and mentor a team of outreach specialists/credible messengers, overseeing day-to-day operations and interventions.
• Coordinate field observations and incident reviews to refine intervention strategies.
• Maintain program data and deliver timely reports on performance.
• Engage with community partners and law enforcement to support safety initiatives.
• Provide trauma-informed support to victims and families and build community trust.
