Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a prestigious wine producer in Upington, seeks an experienced Vineyard and Cellar Operations Manager. You will oversee all vineyard activities and cellar operations, ensuring quality control from grape reception to finished wine.

This hands-on role requires 8+ years combined experience, a degree in Viticulture/Oenology/Agriculture, strong leadership, budgeting, and fluency in English and Afrikaans.

Qualifications

• Degree in Viticulture, Oenology, Agriculture or related field.
• Minimum 8 years combined vineyard and cellar operations experience.
• Knowledge of viticulture practices and modern winemaking techniques.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all vineyard operations from planting to harvest and irrigation.
• Oversee cellar operations including fermentation, aging, blending and bottling.
• Ensure quality control at all stages of production.
• Lead and train vineyard and cellar staff, ensuring safety and excellence.
• Develop and manage budgets for vineyard and cellar activities.
• Maintain vineyard equipment and cellar machinery.
