Job summary

Ellwood Quality Steels in New Castle, PA is seeking a VIM Operator to join our startup-style facility. You will manage melting parameters, maintain equipment, and ensure high-quality production in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
• Six months experience in steel manufacturing environment preferred.
• Remote crane operation experience preferred.
• Internal EQS training provided after hire.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility for VIM melting process parameters to maintain optimal melting conditions and real-time adjustments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to support safe and efficient operations.
• Set up and prepare the VIM furnace for melting operations with related tasks.
• Follow strict safety protocols when handling high-temperature materials and equipment.
• Work closely with VIM crew leader and maintenance teams to ensure proper operation.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and provide redundancy in crucible changes.
• Complete daily Pre-Operational Inspections for cranes, VIM furnace and ancillary equipment.
