Job summary

North Slope Borough seeks a motivated Supervisor for Village Services to oversee road, airport, landfill and equipment operations. You will help manage staff and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include prioritizing road networks, coordinating maintenance, and supervising personnel, with potential to act as Village Services Supervisor and to perform as an Equipment Operator or Mechanic when needed. CDL required; IS and safety training expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Two years of equipment operation and maintenance experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Valid Alaska CDL required.
• IS-100/200/300/400/700/800 training required.
• CPR, AED and Basic First Aid certifications required.
• RCRA training (40 CFR 265.16) required.
• HAZWOPER certification required.
• SPCC training (40 CFR 112.7) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising maintenance of roads, airports, landfills and equipment.
• Assist in establishing priority road network to keep roads open.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, evaluating and supervising staff.
• Maintain employee and equipment records.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and records.
• Act as Village Services Supervisor when needed.
• Work as Equipment Operator or Mechanic as required.
• Lead safety meetings and instruct personnel on Borough policies.
• May work non-traditional hours including evenings, holidays, weekends; 24-hour on-call possible.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
