Job summary

John Knox Village in Lee's Summit, MO is seeking a Housekeeping Associate to maintain clean, safe living areas across the campus. You will support residents and staff, clean rooms and common spaces, and assist with move-ins/move-outs as needed.

Duties include cleaning bathrooms, dusting and polishing surfaces, and following safety protocols. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required to join a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• This position requires the level of education typically acquired by a course of study leading to a high school diploma or GED.
• Village Housekeeping Associates in the Float Pool must possess valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. Class E or equivalent is required for associates assigned to drive JKV vehicle.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, handbooks and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Keeps premises clean and in orderly condition across John Knox Village properties.
• Cleans and prepares rooms or living areas after resident dismissal, transfer or move-in, move-out.
• Washes beds, replaces linens, and cleans bathrooms and common areas; maintains supplies.
• Dusts, polishes, washes windows, fixtures and furnishings; empties trash and transports to bins.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment and surfaces; handles cleaning details with attention to safety.
• Mops, vacuums floors and carpets; transports cleaning equipment as needed.
• May assist with meals in the Main Dining Area if assigned to VCC Housekeeping.
• Maintains checklists and reports maintenance needs; may follow up on work orders.
