Opt For Healthy Living at CSU Fullerton invites applications for a part-time lecturer in Vietnamese Studies. Candidates will teach courses in the Vietnamese language, culture, business, and literature. A master’s degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field is required, along with native-like fluency in Vietnamese.
Successful applicants will contribute to a diverse academic environment, with appointments from the part-time pool being temporary and made before the academic term starts. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $5,507 to $6,677 monthly.
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer pool in Vietnamese Studies to teach undergraduate courses in Vietnamese language, culture, business, art, literature, linguistics and/or film.
This is a pool of part‑time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part‑time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
The need for part‑time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid‑December; the Spring term runs from mid‑January through the end of May. On rare occasions, part‑time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.
Regular performance evaluations of part‑time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future teaching assignments. In some instances, syllabi, assignments, and reading material may be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
All part‑time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the CSU Collective Bargaining Agreement with the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month. Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month.
For a three‑unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.

This position requires compliance with the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act and CSU Executive Order 1083.
Offer is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Continued employment requires completion of a satisfactory background screening per CSU policy.
Under the CSU Out‑of‑State Employment Policy, employees must perform CSU‑related work within the State of California.
