Job summary

The University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, seeks an experienced Videographer/Photographer to lead video concepts and visual strategies advancing the university’s mission. You will manage photography and video production for marketing, advertising, and fundraising, collaborating to shape the university’s visual identity and deliver compelling content.

The role calls for hands-on shooting, editing, livestreaming for major events, and mentoring student photographers, with training

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related professional experience preferred.
• Must provide a demo reel and photography portfolio
• Familiarity with drone piloting a plus.
• Proficient in video editing and production, graphic design, studio and event photography.
• Experience with motion graphic design a plus.
• Proficient with: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Bridge, InDesign, Illustrator.
• Experience with FTP and cloud storage processes.
• Familiarity with video-over-IP technology (NDI, PTZ).
• Proficient with Mac and Windows operating systems.
• Proficient with DSLR/mirrorless photography equipment and broadcasting gear.
• Must work well in a team and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Affinity with the mission of the University of Saint Mary.

Responsibilities

• Video shooting, editing, and production.
• Lead video projects from concept to delivery on deadline and budget.
• Manage photography/videography requests.
• Guide scripting and narration as needed.
• Direct shots for candid and staged content.
• Maintain organized archives of video work.
• Manage livestreams for university events.
• Assist with recruiting and onboarding student photographers.
• Deliver training on photography techniques and brand guidelines.
• Provide feedback and professional development to students.
• Assign student workers to events and manage calendars.
• Support marketing plan and design standards for the university.
• Represent marketing department in developing collateral.
• Occasional evenings/weekends for events.
• Utilize USM drone (training provided).
