Job summary

Semafor, Inc is looking for a hungry video journalist to join our NYC newsroom as a Newsroom Fellow on the video team. The role involves administrative tasks, helping build, produce, and publish a number of our video shows, and collaborating across Semafor’s coverage verticals.

Ideal candidates are self-starters, eager to contribute in editing, research, and producing, with a strong command of Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Qualifications

Strong passion for quality video production and business journalism.
A broad interest in world events across subjects.
Willingness to take on a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
Solid experience with Premiere Pro and After Effects.
Understanding of video platforms and audience expectations.

Responsibilities

Provide admin, video production, editing, research, and logistical support across multiple verticals.
Stay on top of a broad range of issues to identify topics for strong social video.
Collaborate with editorial to produce videos for all channels.
Turn reporters' stories into scripts suitable for social video while upholding journalism standards.
Assist on-site or virtual events to publish clips after live interviews on stage.
Coordinate with other video producers and editors on production needs.
