Job summary

Nikon Inc. in Melville, NY is seeking a Video Editor & Production Intern to help edit and produce video content for Nikon USA products and initiatives, including mirrorless cameras, lenses, and imaging software.

You will work with the marketing team’s video production crew to assist in editing in-house product videos and behind-the-scenes content. The role involves supporting social media content, collaborating on advertising briefs, and helping on set.

Qualifications

• Current junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Filmmaking, Cinema, Marketing or Communications
• Proficient in editing video in Adobe Premiere Pro; knowledge of video codecs and file formats
• Comfortable within Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft suite
• A curious, self-starter with a love for learning, thoughtful and collaborative spirit, and a desire to create a positive experience.
• Ability to build and manage trusting, communicative and successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent organizational skills and professionalism—can manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment, adapt projects and workflows as needed, anticipate challenges, and proactively keep key stakeholders informed
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving, analytical skills
• Creative, out of the box thinker
• Strong familiarity with the following social media platforms and various content styles: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, Reddit

Responsibilities

• Assist in editing and producing video content for Nikon USA products and initiatives
• Support internal stakeholders to develop and manage advertising campaigns; includes writing and presenting advertising creative briefs, reviewing and sharing design and copy feedback on advertising assets
• Collaborate with the team in organizing promotional events
• Provide administrative support as needed, such as scheduling meetings, shipping products, etc.
• Comfortable being on camera for behind the scenes or social media content
• Must be willing and able to lift up to 30lbs and physically assist on set

The Video Editor & Production Intern is a position dedicated to editing/producing video content for Nikon USA products and initiatives, including mirrorless cameras, lenses and imaging software. This position would report to the marketing team’s video production team, where they will work closely with a video specialist to assist in the editing of in-house product videos, which may include the production and editing of interviews/social content, structuring behind-the-scenes content, and assisting in in-house productions.

DESCRIBE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
