Job summary

Flightstory seeks an experienced Video Editor for Hot Smart Rich to edit longform episodes from assembly to final delivery. You will shape narrative, pacing and strongest editorial moments, collaborating with the Executive Producer to ensure authentic and compelling storytelling.

You will apply strong editorial judgement, maintain high technical standards, and work with music, graphics, and archival material to elevate episodes for YouTube and social platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in media or content editing.
• Strong ability with video editing workflows and project organisation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the edit of Hot Smart Rich longform episodes from initial assembly through final delivery.
• Shape episode narrative, pacing, structure and strongest editorial moments with Executive Producer.
• Turn long-form conversations into engaging episodes with authenticity and emotional impact.
• Identify opportunities to tighten or elevate conversations for the strongest viewing experience.
• Maintain high creative and technical standards across episodes.
• Apply editorial judgement to keep essential information and strengthen storytelling.
• Use music, sound design, graphics, archive, imagery in edits.
• Collaborate with producers, creatives, social teams and other editors to connect with the broader content ecosystem.
• Utilize audience retention data to improve editing decisions.
• Keep project files organized with clear naming and version control.
• Back up media and assets across local and cloud storage.
• Deliver final edits formatted for YouTube and other platforms.
• Proactively manage deadlines and flag bottlenecks early.
• Stay updated on editing techniques and AI tools.
• Support videography & photography within the team.
