Job summary

ActionVFX Academy seeks experienced freelance Video Editors to scale production quickly. This remote contractor role rewards ownership of workflow and turning raw recordings into polished, LMS-ready educational content.

You will edit courses end-to-end from raw footage to final delivery, collaborate with the Lead Course Editor and product team, and maintain organized project files while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision. Prior success with educational content is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of professional video editing experience.
• Advanced proficiency in DaVinci Resolve.
• Experience creating motion graphics in Resolve Fusion or After Effects.
• Proven experience editing educational, tutorial, or long-form instructional content.
• Strong pacing instincts for educational storytelling.
• Excellent project organization and file management.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Comfortable working remotely with a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Edit Academy courses from raw footage through final delivery.
• Structure lessons for clarity, pacing, and learner engagement.
• Create graphics, motion graphics, callouts, and branded visual elements using provided templates and brand guidelines.
• Prepare content for LMS upload.
• Maintain organized project files and archives.

• Troubleshoot editing and post-production challenges independently.
• Meet agreed-upon deadlines while communicating progress proactively.

ActionVFX is rapidly expanding the ActionVFX Academy, and we’re hiring experienced freelance Video Editors to help us scale production quickly and efficiently.

This is a remote contractor role for video editors who thrive in fast-paced environments, take ownership of their workflow, and understand how to transform recorded material into polished, high-quality educational products.

You’ll take assigned Academy courses from raw recordings through polished, LMS-ready delivery while collaborating closely with our Lead Course Editor to ensure every course meets ActionVFX quality standards.

We are moving quickly and looking to engage contractors immediately.

What You’ll Do:

End-to-End Course Editing

You’ll collaborate closely with our Lead Course Editor and product team throughout each project. We’re looking for editors who communicate proactively, stay highly organized, and consistently deliver polished work with minimal supervision.

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of professional video editing experience
  
• Advanced proficiency in DaVinci Resolve
• Experience creating motion graphics in Resolve Fusion or Adobe After Effects
• Proven experience editing educational, tutorial, or long-form instructional content
• Excellent pacing instincts for educational storytelling
• Strong project organization and file management
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Consistent reliability and deadline ownership
• Comfortable working remotely with a distributed team

• Familiarity with VFX, creative software, or technical tutorials
• Experience preparing content for LMS platforms
