We are seeking a creative and highly skilled Video Editor to join our Communications and Marketing team. This remote position offers the opportunity to create compelling video content that reflects our schools mission, values, and community while engaging prospective families, alumni, and supporters.
Position Summary
The Video Editor will be responsible for producing and editing a wide range of video content, including promotional materials, social media reels, event recaps, educational features, and storytelling campaigns. The ideal candidate has a sharp creative eye, strong technical editing skills, and a passion for storytelling.
The role requires someone who can collaborate with stakeholders remotely, manage multiple projects on tight deadlines, and consistently deliver polished, professional videos that align with Episcopal School of Baton Rouges branding and vision.
Key Responsibilities
Video Production & Editing
Edit raw video footage into engaging final products for social media, websites, and digital campaigns.
Incorporate music, voiceovers, graphics, captions, and animations to enhance storytelling.
Ensure all video content is on-brand, visually appealing, and aligned with Episcopals mission and messaging.
Repurpose long-form videos into shorter clips suitable for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other platforms.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with the Communications & Marketing team to understand project goals and target audiences.
Participate in virtual meetings for creative brainstorming and project updates.
Communicate effectively with team members, faculty, and administration to gather video content remotely.
Technical & Administrative Duties
Organize and manage digital assets, including footage, graphics, and final deliverables.
Stay up-to-date on current video trends, techniques, and social media best practices.
Deliver all projects on time and within established specifications.
Maintain a high level of professionalism when representing the Episcopal School of Baton Rouge brand.
Required Qualifications
U.S. citizenship (Required; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States).
Proven experience as a video editor with a strong portfolio demonstrating creative and technical expertise.
Proficiency with professional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
Knowledge of motion graphics and animation using After Effects or similar tools (preferred).
Strong storytelling abilities with an understanding of pacing, transitions, and visual flow.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Reliable high-speed internet connection and access to necessary editing hardware/software.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience editing content for educational institutions, nonprofits, or community organizations.
Knowledge of current social media trends and best practices for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Familiarity with Episcopal or independent school culture and values (a plus but not required).
Work Environment
This is a remote position, but candidates must reside within the United States.
Occasional travel to Baton Rouge, LA, may be required for major school events (travel expenses covered by the school).
Flexible schedule with availability for key deadlines and virtual meetings during Central Time business hours.
