Job description

The Creative Agency | Fort Collins, Colorado

Job Type: Full-Time | Hybrid

Compensation: $21.00–$30.00 per hour + Quarterly Performance Bonuses

The Creative Agency is seeking an experienced Video Editor with exceptional technical capabilities, sophisticated creative instincts, and a strong background in commercial post-production.

This position focuses on producing high-quality video content for advertising campaigns, branded storytelling, product marketing, and digital media. We're looking for someone who can take raw footage and transform it into compelling, polished work through advanced editing, visual effects, motion graphics, color grading, and sound design.

Beyond technical proficiency, we're seeking someone who is genuinely immersed in the evolving world of commercial production and digital media. The ideal candidate understands social-first content strategies, follows emerging creative techniques and industry trends, and recognizes how visual storytelling must adapt across audiences, platforms, and campaign objectives.

This is a hands-on creative position for someone who brings original ideas, strong visual judgment, and the technical confidence to execute ambitious concepts independently.

What You'll Do;
  • Edit commercial advertising, branded content, product videos, promotional campaigns, and digital media.
  • Transform raw footage into polished, engaging content through effective storytelling, pacing, transitions, and creative treatments.
  • Manage projects from initial footage organization through editing, revisions, finishing, and final delivery.
  • Produce content in multiple formats and aspect ratios for advertising, websites, and social platforms.
  • Maintain high standards for production quality, technical accuracy, and brand consistency.
  • Execute advanced visual effects, including compositing, motion tracking, masking, rotoscoping, object removal, and screen replacements.
  • Develop motion graphics, animated typography, branded visual elements, and sophisticated transitions.
  • Integrate visual effects seamlessly into live-action footage.
  • Contribute creative solutions that enhance the visual quality and impact of commercial projects.
  • Perform professional color correction and creative color grading.
  • Sync audio to video and export/import files and stems for final deliverables
  • Ensure finished content meets professional quality standards and platform-specific technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with our in-house creative team to develop and execute compelling commercial and digital content.
  • Remain actively informed of emerging video production techniques, editing styles, visual effects advancements, social media trends, and evolving platform capabilities.
  • Bring a social-first perspective to content development, understanding how pacing, visual hooks, storytelling, and creative treatments influence engagement across platforms.
  • Apply an understanding of commercial advertising and branded content to ensure creative decisions align with campaign objectives, target audiences, and brand positioning.
  • Proactively contribute fresh ideas, creative references, and recommendations that elevate production quality and strengthen campaign effectiveness.
  • Understand the creative distinctions between traditional commercial production, premium brand storytelling, and platform-native social media content.
  • Collaborate during pre-production to identify opportunities for motion graphics, visual effects, and creative post-production treatments.
  • Independently manage multiple editing projects, organize production assets, and meet established deadlines.
  • Communicate proactively with team members, incorporate feedback efficiently, and take ownership of the quality and completion of assigned work.
Required Qualifications
  • Professional experience editing commercial, advertising, marketing, or branded video content.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or comparable professional editing software.
  • Strong capabilities in Adobe After Effects, including visual effects, compositing, and motion graphics.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced editing techniques, motion tracking, masking, and visual effects integration.
  • Strong understanding of color correction, grading, audio editing, and professional finishing workflows.
  • Exceptional creative judgment, visual storytelling skills, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated understanding of social-first content production, digital advertising formats, and contemporary creative trends.
  • Ability to independently execute sophisticated editing projects from raw footage through final delivery.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a deadline-driven creative environment.
  • A professional portfolio demonstrating high-quality editing, motion graphics, and visual effects capabilities.

You are motivated, highly organized, comfortable working independently, and energized by collaborating with other creative professionals. You understand the importance of deadlines, communicate proactively, and take ownership of your projects from beginning to end.

Most importantly, your portfolio demonstrates the quality and sophistication of your work.
