Job description

Generational Group | Dallas, TX | Part-Time, 3–4 Days per Week

About Generational Group
Generational Group is a leading middle‑market investment banking and business advisory firm helping privately held business owners grow, prepare for exit, and successfully sell their companies.

We are looking for a versatile Video & Digital Content Creator to join our marketing team in Dallas. This is not a narrowly defined videographer position. We need a creative, hands‑on generalist who can shoot and edit professional video, create social content, help build our YouTube presence, support our websites and digital channels, and jump into the wide variety of projects that come through a fast-moving marketing department.

This is a part‑time role working approximately 3–4 days per week, with regular in‑office collaboration and occasional on‑location shoots.

The Role
We Think About The Work In Two Categories
  • Ongoing Work: “Feed the Chickens”

Around our marketing department, we use the phrase “feed the chickens.” On a farm, certain things have to get done every day or every week. They may not always be the biggest projects, but if you ignore them, things quickly stop working.

For this role, that means consistently keeping our content engine moving.

Social Media
  • Create and assist in publishing content for Generational Group and affiliated brands.
  • Maintain a consistent posting cadence rather than simply “posting to post.”
  • Turn videos, transactions, events, testimonials, news and company activity into engaging social content.
  • Create short‑form video, graphics, captions, thumbnails and other supporting assets.
  • Look for opportunities to improve engagement and make sophisticated investment banking topics accessible and interesting.
YouTube
  • Help execute and evolve Generational Group’s YouTube strategy.
  • Develop a reliable weekly content engine around M&A, business growth, exit planning and business‑owner education.
  • Coordinate with internal subject‑matter experts and on‑camera personalities.
  • Shoot and edit long‑form content and repurpose it into short‑form clips.
  • Create thumbnails, titles, descriptions and supporting assets.
  • Maintain a content pipeline so videos can be produced ahead of schedule.
  • Monitor performance and continually improve topics, formats and production.
Video & Content Production
  • Shoot and edit executive interviews, internal videos, educational content, events and other recurring content.
  • Capture professional video, photography and audio in both planned and run‑and‑gun environments.
  • Repurpose existing footage into multiple formats and channels.
  • Maintain and organize our growing video and digital asset library.
Website & Digital Support
  • Handle straightforward website content and media updates.
  • Upload and replace videos, images and other digital assets.
  • Help troubleshoot routine digital‑content issues.
  • Work comfortably inside different platforms and systems when necessary to get the job done.
Larger & Ad Hoc Projects
Examples Include
  • Client testimonial videos: Manage pre‑production, interviews, shooting, editing and final delivery of professional client stories.
  • Transaction and deal content: Turn completed transactions and investment banking activity into compelling video and social proof.
  • Brand ambassador content: Capture and produce content involving company ambassadors, executives and other partners.
  • Paid media: Develop and resize video creative for Meta, YouTube, CTV and other advertising channels.
  • Events: Photograph and film conferences, executive meetings, cocktail receptions and company events.
  • Internal communications: Produce training videos, leadership messages, departmental content and presentations.
  • New initiatives: Support launches and special projects requiring video, creative or digital execution.
  • Rapid‑response requests: Handle the inevitable “Can you help us with this?” projects that emerge in a growing organization.

Priorities can change quickly. A major campaign, testimonial shoot or company initiative may temporarily take precedence over the normal weekly schedule.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal person is a creative generalist and problem solver, not someone who wants to perform one narrowly defined task every day.

You Should Be
  • Adaptable: Comfortable shifting between shooting video, editing, social media, website work and unexpected projects.
  • Self‑directed: Able to take an objective and figure out how to get there without requiring step‑by‑step instructions.
  • Creative: Able to find interesting ways to communicate topics that can sometimes be complex or technical.
  • Reliable: Understand that consistent execution is just as important as big creative ideas.
  • Resourceful: Willing to find the right person, system, file or solution when something is blocking a project.
  • Business‑minded: Interested in understanding our company, clients and the M&A world rather than simply producing attractive content.
  • Comfortable with executives: Able to direct and work with senior leaders, investment bankers, clients and business owners.
  • Flexible: Equally comfortable producing a polished testimonial one day and fixing a thumbnail, website video or social post the next.
Technical Skills

Premiere Pro proficiency is required. Our existing video library and several major recurring projects are built in Premiere Pro.

Strong Experience With Several Of The Following Is Preferred
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • After Effects
  • Photoshop
  • Lightroom
  • Audition
  • Media Encoder
  • DaVinci Resolve
  • Artlist AI Toolkit
  • YouTube publishing and optimization
  • Social media publishing platforms
  • Basic website/CMS editing
  • Digital asset management & organization management

You should also understand professional video production fundamentals including cameras, lighting, composition, audio, interviewing and post‑production.

What Success Looks Like

The right person will help us build a consistent content engine rather than simply complete individual assignments.

You Will Know You Are Succeeding When
  • Generational’s social channels have a consistent flow of high-quality content.
  • Our YouTube strategy moves from individual videos to a repeatable publishing engine.
  • Executives and subject‑matter experts are efficiently turned into useful content.
  • Client testimonials and transaction stories become powerful marketing assets.
  • Major projects get completed without the everyday marketing needs being neglected.
  • The marketing team knows that when an unexpected creative or digital project appears, there is someone who can figure it out and get it done.
Why This Role Is Different

This position offers an unusual amount of variety and ownership.

You might spend Monday editing an executive interview, Tuesday filming a business owner, Wednesday building YouTube and social content, and Thursday helping launch an entirely new marketing initiative.

We don’t expect every week to look the same.

We do expect you to create, solve problems, adapt and deliver.

  • Only TX residents will be considered.

Generational Group is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
