Job summary

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a seasoned Studio Camera Operator to support 24x7 production operations. You will manage both studio and robotic cameras, ensuring optimal iris, white balance, and color accuracy while coordinating with lighting and monitoring teams to produce a high-quality broadcast.

The role requires 5–10 years in studio production, hands-on experience with automation systems (Cobalt, Telemetrics Remote Camera System, Jita Robotic Boom), and bilingual English/Spanish skills; you

• Bachelor’s degree in television production or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Adjust iris, white balance, black balance, knee control to assure quality pictures for studio cameras.
• Control robotic cameras in manual operations; adjust pan/tilt/zoom as needed.
• Color correct set monitors and manage lighting cues with the lighting board.
• Maintain and troubleshoot highly automated system equipment during broadcasts.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Adjust iris, white balance, black balance, knee control, etc. assuring a quality picture for each studio camera
• Adjust pan, tilt, zoom, etc. of the robotic cameras if needed
• Fully control the robotic cameras in manual operations
• Adjust and color correct set monitors
• Knowledge of lighting board and bringing up lighting cues
• Clean and maintain robotic cameras

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in television production or equivalent work experience
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows operating systems
• 5-10 years of experience in production programs in studio with Automation and Manual operations; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
• Comfort using highly technical and automated systems such as Cobalt, Telemetrics Remote Camera System and Jita Robotic Boom
• Familiar with Ross Cambotics and Vinten Robotic Pedestals
• Good sense of visual composition and attention to detail
• Troubleshooting skills
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
• Abilitytomulti-task and react quickly during dailybroadcasts
• Perform well under pressure and breaking news situations
• Works effectively with others in a team environment
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

As this position supports 24x7 operation, candidate must, in addition to being able to work regular hours, have on-call availability, and flexibility to work days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed and without advance notice. Additionally, candidate may be required to work on site for extended periods of time to provide coverage in special circumstances, such as, during tropical storm/hurricane.
