Job summary

Roanoke County, VA seeks a paraprofessional to provide victim and witness support services in the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney. Qualifications

• Associates degree required in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related field.
• One to three years of experience in human services, victim advocacy, legal support, or related field.
• Must have a valid Virginia Driver's License with good record.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for victims and witnesses, providing information and referrals.
• Explain court procedures and victim rights, and coordinate with agencies.
• Maintain confidential case files and prepare required documentation.
• Provide courtroom orientation and prepare victims for hearings.
• Assist with scheduling court appearances and notifying parties of dates.
